OUR
CURRICULUM is
developmental in approach and based on the knowledge that
children are learning every moment. Our goal is to help each
child reach his or her greatest potential in physical skills
(gross and fine
motor), social skills (cooperation and problem solving),
language skills (expressing thoughts and listening to others),
and cognitive skills (recognition
of colors, shapes, letters and numbers) Kindergarten
readiness is a priority.

TWO
AND THREE YEAR OLDS
This
class is designed to delight and challenge children in their
first school experience by fostering the excitement and love
of learning. Rug Time, Story Time and a combination of learning
and play activities
fill their day. The emphasis is on social interaction and cooperation
with peers as well as adults. Activities include art, books,
puzzles, imaginative play, music and movement, and toileting
competence.
OLDER THREES
AND YOUNG FOURS
This classroom
offers a multitude of learning experiences designed to invite
exploration of colors, seasons, personal hygiene, daily life,
plant and animal life
and cultural heritage. Activities include planned Circle Time
followed by art, and play activities to enrich the
curriculum and enhance the chidren's social skills. Verbal skills
are emphasized.
OLDER FOURS
Pre-kindergarten activities prepare the childen
socially and academically for their first formal school experience.
Emphasis is on opportunities for
exploring
math, science and language concepts through play. Concepts
are reinforced through classroom activities using themes such
as animal habitats, weather, postal service and holidays.
YOUNG FIVES
This classroom
is filled with activities designed to prepare the children
for their kindergarten experience. Beginning phonics is the basis
of the curriculum that includes a wide range of kindergarten
readiness activities. Emphasis is on language and listening
skills, cooperation and social
skills, individual creativity and motor development.
AFTERNOON CLUBHOUSE
Our extended care offers an
additional hour or two
of planned activities on a day by day sign-up or as
a regular monthly schedule. Daily activities vary but cover
big ideas such as the circus, the zoo, insects or current holidays.
Children enjoy a refreshing rest as well as
continuing
friendships in the afternoon.
Pick-up
times
are
2:00p.m. or 3:30 p.m.
TODDLER PROGRAM
This class is for children 18 to 30 months who
will enter our preschool as they turn two and a half and are
potty-trained. It is an opportunity for them to become familiar
wth preschool routines in the presence of their moms, dads, or
a grandparent. The class offers play and socialization opportunities,
an art activity and parent discussion. It meets every Tuesday
from 9:00 A.M. to
11:00 A.M.
