MEET OUR STAFF

A hallmark of our preschool is our outstanding, well-qualified and experienced staff. Every member is trained in early childhood development through college courses and "hands-on" experience. Every staff member has a current Red Cross CPR Certificate and is registered with the State Licensing Board.

Our staff welcomes opportunites to interact with parents and is eager to answer any questions you may have.

Wendy, Director, received her training in Early Childhood Education at Los Angeles Valley College and University of California Los Angeles. Wendy began teaching at First United Methodist Preschool in 2003 in the toddler class. She also taught the two and three-year-old class before becoming the director in April 2006.

Ginger, Administrative Assistant, has 16 years of experience as Administrative Assistant at our Church office before coming across the yard to Preschool. Her daughter, an alumna of our preschool, is currently attending CSUN. Ginger is ready to assist children, parents, and visitors with enthusiasm. Please stop by to meet her and receive answers to any questions you may have.

 

Lead Teacher, Yellow House. We are currently interviewing for this position.

Anne-Marie, Assistant Teacher, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University. She majored in psychology and has a minor in sociology. She joined the FUM Preschool staff in 2005 and currently works in Yellow House with the children who are two and a half through three.

Sharon, Lead Teacher in Room 3, has her Early Childhood Education Preschool Teaching Credential. She has had 30 years’ experience teaching preschool. Sharon has three children and four grandchildren, enjoys teaching and is frequently found laughing with her class. She says, "I love to work with children because you never know what they are going to say or do!"
Marla, Assistant Teacher in Room 3, has an Associates Degree in Merchandise Marketing from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. She has been working with children for the past ten years. Her three-year-old is beginning Yellow House this year. Marla is very involved with a variety of "Mommy & Me" groups so she brings new ideas and perspectives. She enjoys gardening in her spare time.
Joanne, Lead Teacher, has a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Hunter College, City University of New York and earned her Preschool Certificate at West Valley Occupational Center. She has been a teacher at FUM Preschool since 1996. She teaches the older three and four-year-olds in Room 4. Joanne's children attended FUM Preschool.

Dolores, Assistant Teacher, attended UCLA and West Valley Occupational Center. She began teaching at FUM Preschool in 1983. She has taught at every level and is presently working with the older three and four-year-olds in Room 4. Dolores has led our parent education classes on a variety of topics.

Gina, Lead Teacher, attended Glendale Community College where she received her Preschool Teacher Certificate. She began teaching in Room 5 at First United Methodist Preschool in September 2005. She works with older four-year-olds and pre-kindergarteners.
 
Robin, Assistant Teacher in Room 5, has over 30 years’ experience teaching in the inner city and with LAUSD in the Valley. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Beaver College in Pennsylvania and is currently pursuing additional Early Childhood Education credits. Robin’s daughter is an alumna of this Preschool and is currently attending Texas Christian University.
